Release Notes

Notara 1.1.0 is the current release documented across this site. It formalizes Notara as a local-first workspace with desktop distribution, Docker support, richer markdown handling, and a stronger midnight visual identity.

  • midnight plus pink is now the default theme pairing
  • glass styling was expanded across the app
  • a transparency-to-frost control now adjusts glass intensity
  • the top menu bar and header actions were restyled to match the new visual system
  • save button and File menu actions now flush note data immediately
  • keyboard shortcuts support save active note and save all
  • markdown preview gained better code highlighting and GitHub-flavored tables
  • the markdown toolbar now includes block styles, inline styles, links, images, color, and highlight tools
  • Pollinations settings now support API key, text model, and image model configuration
  • AI chat state persists while navigating during a session
  • chats can be archived more reliably and stored as markdown notes
  • generated images can be saved directly to vision boards or local media
  • vision board items can now be resized
  • text cards support inline editing with save and cancel controls
  • item colors and board-level color filters were added
  • calendar now uses Upcoming and Selected Date tabs plus a Today shortcut
  • Linux desktop bundles are available as .deb, .rpm, and AppImage
  • the repository includes a Windows NSIS installer workflow
  • Docker support packages the web runtime plus Pollinations proxy endpoints
  • desktop storage automatically lives in the Tauri app-data workspace

The repo history and changelog show a consistent shift toward a cleaner, more usable dark workspace:

  • older cosmic flourishes were reduced in favor of cleaner surfaces
  • glass palettes were unified and made more believable
  • layout complexity was reduced by removing nested panel structures
  • navigation around starred notes, tags, docs, and settings was made more direct
